Most of us, owning a vehicle has the experience and knowledge about changing headlight once in a while. At times it becomes necessary while at times we want to save on some pennies. The assembly of bulbs is done with easy hands so that even commoners can change them without the requirement of professional technicians. Hence, changing of H7 bulb is not going to give you nightmares if you know the assembly correctly. The steps are simple that includes removing the cover from the back of the light and fixing the new one straight. That's it!
However, you may find it hard when the algorithm doesn't match up with the car's computer. The bulb can behave irregularly if there is a fault in the voltage regulator, loose wire connection, misfitting bulbs, wrongly touching the bulb glass while installation, excessive vibration or condensation in the headlight. These are some of the basic issues that can occur in an H7 bulb that leads to flickering or continuous glowing.
Faulty voltage regulator
The regulator is a piece of electronic equipment that is attached to an alternator and stabilizes the voltage flow to the bulb. If the regulator is not working correctly there would be fluctuation in voltage killing the efficiency of the bulb. This is when the bulb starts to glow continuously.
Loose wiring connections
The bulb must be connected to the holder while the connections have to be in a proper place for it to work perfectly. Incorrect connection will give out flickering lights stressing the wires and emitting heat. Ultimately the result will be a continuous glow of the filament.
Wrong bulbs
Wrong bulbs don't match with standard of the vehicle creating a continuous glowing issue. The cheapest have thinner tungsten wire in place of high quality copper ones. The voltage mismatches with the wrong bulbs creating a continuous glowing issue. Hence, it is important to get the high quality parts that are meant specifically for the car model.
